A two year research and development project has culminated in the
July 2003 release of the OdaLog 6000 multi-gas monitor.
The OdaLog 6000 multigas unit is based on the proven OdaLog Logger
design. A cylindrical shape was selected for reasons of superior
sealing that can be achieved with o-rings and the ease with which
a cylindrical device is handled by the human hand. Double o-ring
seals ensure dust and moisture is kept where it belongs, outside
the instrument.
This cylindrical shape has been well accepted in the wastewater
industry worldwide and it is believed that the hand friendly beer
can shape coupled with extreme robustness and superb sealing properties
will make this OdaLog 6000 a favourite in the multigas portable
market as well.
The OdaLog 6000 has been designed to monitor up to 6 gases covering
most popular gas measuring combinations. It is expected that the
instrument will primarily be used with the Oxygen, Methane (or other
flammables), Carbon Monoxide and Hydrogen Sulphide configuration
to which can be added up to two additional toxic gases such as Nitrogen
Oxide, Nitrogen Dioxide, Chlorine, Sulphur Dioxide, Hydrogen Cyanide,
Ammonia, or other combinations.
The
instrument will be available with the flammable sensor set to display
% Methane for underground coal mining applications or % LEL for
Confined Space Entry applications.
Very distinct audible and visual alarms with huge datalogging capacity
as well as the capability to be used as an area monitor further
sets this unit apart from competitive products.
